which would
give a broader view
of the Islamic
religion to our
students and,
in fact
it resulted a
complete success,
with our students
being very happy and
satisfied at the end.
Imam
Mohammed El Sadi gave
the students a very
interesting all-round, informative
talk about the values
and truths which are
common
with both
Christianity and
Islam. After the
session, St.
Augustine and Mariam
al Batool students
spent time discussing
common issues
regarding their
beliefs. This proved
to be a very positive
endeavour as most
students praised the
activity and seemed
to be eager to
participate in more
activities of this
kind in the coming
years.
As the Religion
teacher responsible
for Form 4s, I must
say that this
activity has
instilled a stronger
consciousness about
the cultural and
religious reality
which surrounds our
students. The Islamic
culture is present in
every sector of
modern society, and I
believe that it is
important to give to
our students the
opportunity to
discover all about
the truths which
connect us.
Undoubtedly,
this will
result in mutual
respect and a better
understanding of both
Christian and Islamic
beliefs and cultures.
