School Library

In the St Augustine College Library one can find a wide range of books ideal for secondary boy students. Among others genre, one can find fiction books, both in Maltese and in English, as well as in Italian and in French. Apart from fiction books there are also various Encyclopaedias, Non-Fiction books, books on General Knowledge and Science Books. The library also provides books and other sources of information regarding subjects studied as part of the ordinary level curriculum. Books to be used as reference for projects given during the scholastic year are also to be found in the school library.

Library sessions are a part of the weekly time-table during the first three scholastic years; therefore our students are constantly being encouraged to read. As for the senior years the academic curriculum is more tight, making it practically impossible for a library session to be included in the time-table.

Please note that the library is open three times a week during the long break allowing students to make full use of the library.

READING SHOULD BE FUN. As a librarian, I work in line with both the teachers’ and the students’ requirements regarding which new books are to be introduced into the school library, thus keeping our school library constantly updated.

Special Needs Team

The Special Needs Education Team

Inclusive Education means that all students in a school, regardless of their strengths or weaknesses, become part of the school. They are included in the feeling of belonging among other students and Support Staff.

Our school aims to help all students to succeed academically and socially in a holistic way.

Our team which consists of a Special educational needs coordinator SENCO and 12 facilitators meet regularly to discuss the students’ needs and performance.

We believe that team work is the answer to succeed so liaising with the subject teachers is imperative to further enhance the students’ performance

A message from the SENCO

Special needs help is given to those students who suffer from physical, psychological or academic problems. These students will not have the ability to follow the same scholastic programme as other students. Professional facilitators, teachers and administration help students where appropriate so that they will be able to follow with other students in the most possible manner. These facilities include the creation of individual educational programmes, practical rescheduling of exam timetables, consultations and meetings. The coordination and implementation of these initiatives help to improve and develop the child’s potential.
